Sightseeing Places in Coorg or Kodagu
NISARGADHAMA: This sightseeing place in Coorg is located in the scenic Island formed by river Cauvery. This place is 25 Kms from Madikeri and 2 Kms from Kushalnagar in Kodagu. The forest of Nisargadhama is dense and consist flora like foliage, teak and rosewood, bamboo grooves. Tourists can visit a mini Zoo, the deer park and elephant camp in Nisargadhama.

TIBETAN GOLDEN TEMPLE: This is one of the largest Tibetan settlements in South India. This has two adjacent Tibetan refugee settlements as well as number of Tibetan Buddhist monasteries. This place is located in Bylukuppe in coorg close to Kushalnagar.

HARANGI DAM: This dam is located in Hudgur village in Somwarpet taluk of coorg and it is a masonry dam built across Herangi river which is a tributary of river Kaveri. This dam is 6 km away from the heart of Kushalnagar in Coorg.

ABBI FALLS: This one of the major attraction for visitors to Coorg. The Abby falls in Kodagu has several streams and during monsoon season and after that it flows jubilantly hitting the huge boulders forcing through the stream and valley created by it.

TALACAUVERY: This is considered to the source of the River Cauvery. Talacauvery is situated in the Brahmagiri hill near Bhagamandala in Coorg district. This is located 1,276 m above sea level.

DUBARE ELEPHANT CAMP: This is a forest camp of elephants which is known as Dubare elephant camp which is situated on the river banks of Kaveri in Coorg. This is the most important base for Karnataka Forest Department's elephants. The mysore dussera elephants are trained here.

NAGARHOLE WILD LIFE SANCTUARY: This is also known as Rajiv Gandhi National Park and is located 90 Kms from Mysore. This place is Located to the northwest of Bandipur National Park, Kabini reservoir separates the two.

BHAGAMANDALA: This is one of the pilgrimage places in Coorg. Here the Kaveri is joined by two tributaries the Kannike and the mythical Sujyoti river.

TADIANDEMOL: The name itself means ‘the highest point’ in Kodava language. This is the highest peak in coorg and is located near Virajpet about 30 Kms away on the way to Napoklu.

IRUPPU FALLS: This falls is located in the Brahmagiri Range in Coorg and has fresh water cascade and is 48 Kms from Virajpet on the highway to Nagarahole.

MADIKERI FORT: King Mudduraja built this fort in the last quarter of the 17th century as a mud fort. He also had built a beautiful palace inside the fort. The fort was later rebuilt by Tipu Sultan in granite and named as Jaffarbad. This is a worth visiting tourist attraction in Coorg.
